TRIP ITINERARY

Rather than staying only in hotels, during this Cao Bang Easy Rider tour, you will stay at local homestays, giving you the opportunity to enjoy a home-cooked meals, meet local families, and experience the rhythms of rural life. Along the way, your Cao Bang Easy Rider driver-guide can share stories about the landscapes, ethnic communities, traditions, and everyday life of Cao Bang.

Day 1: Cao Bang City – Phia Thap – Ba Quang Grass Hill – Nguom Ngao Cave

Cao Bang City: Your local driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel at around 8:00 AM. After a short introduction, begin your Cao Bang Easy Rider journey through the peaceful countryside and spectacular mountain roads of northern Vietnam.

Phia Thap Incense Village: Your first stop is Phia Thap, a traditional Nung ethnic village famous for handmade incense. Instead of simply taking photos, take time to observe how local families prepare, shape, dry, and preserve this traditional craft. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect with local people and learn about a craft that has been passed down through generations.

Ba Quang Grass Hill: Continue by motorbike through quiet rural roads toward Ba Quang Grass Hill. The open hills, limestone mountains, and surrounding countryside create beautiful scenery and plenty of opportunities to stop for photos. Your local driver can take you to viewpoints that are often missed by travelers following a fixed sightseeing route.

Nguom Ngao Cave: Continue to Nguom Ngao Cave, one of Cao Bang’s most impressive natural attractions. Walk inside the limestone cave to admire its unusual stalactites and stalagmites, shaped over thousands of years.

Local Homestay: After exploring the cave, continue to a local village for the evening. Tonight, stay at a traditional local homestay rather than a standard hotel. Depending on availability, you may stay with a Tay or Nung family and enjoy a simple home-cooked dinner featuring local ingredients. This is one of the most meaningful parts of the Cao Bang Easy Rider experience: sharing food, conversations, and everyday moments with local people while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside.

Day 2: Phat Tich Pagoda – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Ngoc Con Valley – Mat Than Mountain

Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda: After breakfast at the homestay, continue your Cao Bang Easy Rider adventure toward Ban Gioc. Visit Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda, the first Buddhist pagoda built in Cao Bang Province. From the hillside, enjoy sweeping views over Ban Gioc Waterfall, surrounding rice fields, villages, and limestone mountains.

Ban Gioc Waterfall: Continue to Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of Vietnam’s most spectacular natural landmarks. Take time to admire the impressive cascade and surrounding karst landscape. A boat trip can also be arranged when conditions allow, bringing you closer to the waterfall and giving you a different perspective of this remarkable borderland scenery.

Ngoc Con Valley: Leave the main tourist attractions behind and ride through Ngoc Con Valley. With quiet village roads, green rice fields, limestone peaks, and traditional houses, this is an ideal place to slow down and experience rural Cao Bang. Your local driver-guide can suggest scenic stops and introduce you to aspects of village life that you might otherwise miss.

Holy Eye Mountain (Mat Than Mountain): Before heading back toward Cao Bang City, visit Mat Than Mountain, locally known as “Phja Piót.” The mountain is famous for its dramatic natural hole piercing through the limestone peak. Take a short walk, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and capture the changing landscape from the valley below.

Return to Cao Bang City: Continue the scenic ride back to Cao Bang City, arriving at around 5:30 PM and ending your Cao Bang Easy Rider journey at your accommodation or another address in the city.

The itinerary is subject to change or cancellation due to weather conditions.
